Carl Heil
Coach Carl has been playing soccer for over 27 years. Growing up in Washington Township, Gloucester County, New Jersey; Carl began his playing career at the age of 6. Youth soccer included several stints with the South Jersey Select and eventually took Carl to Evesham Township as a member of the elite Red Devils. Carl enjoyed a very successful Washington Township High School soccer career before one season as a Gloucester County College Roadrunner. His collegiate career finished in 1995 at Rowan University, a perennial NCAA Division III power. In 1993, Carl was recruited to play amateur soccer for Sewell Soccer Club. In just two years, Carl guided the team to the 1st Division and also took over as the team's manager. During Carl's tenure as manager, Sewell Soccer Club has become one of the league's most decorated teams. While his love for the sport is long-standing, his passion for coaching was discovered as he took on a start-up high school soccer program at the Gloucester County Institute of Technology in 2000. In 2004, Carl was sought out to take over a competitive Kingsway Regional High School boy's soccer program. It took little time for Coach Carl to take the program to elite status within South Jersey High School soccer.
Shift FC is looking forward to sharing Coach Carl's honest, hard-working passion for the sport in an effort to improve the level of soccer in the area.
